* The FreeBSD GNOME team presents a Glib and Gtk+ 3 update.Koop Mast2013-07-311-18/+24
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This update updates Glib20 to 2.36 and Gtk+ 3.8 * The gio-fam-backend port that used gamin for the GFileMonitor API is gone. It is replaced by a GIO kqueue implementation developed as part of a NetBSD GSoC 2011 project by Dimitry Matveev. * Fix a bug in the glib20 Makefile so it includes -lintl in the glib-2.0 pkgconfig file [1]. This broke static linking and newer binutils. * Add introspection USE_GNOME component which sets GI_SCANNER_DISABLE_CACHE to prevent creation of / root/.cache dir. Defaults to build & run depend, but :build and :run switches available. * New x11-toolkits/pangox-compat port and companion USE_GNOME component for pangox support which was removed from the pango port. Add it to ports still using pangox API. Exp-run by: bapt@ PR: ports/178958 [1] Submitted by: emaste@ [1] Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=324037

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | are the latest stable releases. * Update vala to the newest stable release 0.18.1, also update a few ports in the gtk/gnome stack. * The c++ bindings ports for glib, atk, gconf, etc, have now USE_GNOME toggles. * Remove pkg-config run depends from glib20 and freetype2. This doesn't eliminate pkg-config run dependency completely, a second phase is needed and is planned. * Support for .:run. and .:build. for USE_GNOME components was added. Currently only libxml2 and libxslt support this mechanism. * Updates of the telepathy stack and empathy. * Trim makefile headers, convert ports to new options, trim off library versions for some ports. * Fix other ports so they build with the new glib version. Thanks to miwi and crees for helping out with some exp-runs. Approved by: portmgr (miwi & bapt) Obtained from: gnome team repo Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=313633

A symlink to pkg-config has been added for convenience and compatibility This also introduces a new macro to use pkgconf in your ports: USE_PKGCONFIG it can take the following arguments: - yes (meaning build only dep) - build (meaning build only dep) - run (meaning run only dep) - both (meaning run and build dep) From now USE_GNOME= pkgconfig is deprecated in favour of USE_PKGCONFIG The old gnome macro has been modified to use pkgconf but still the sameway: run and build dep to avoid large breakage. While here fix some ports relying on pkg-config but not specifying it, fix some ports broken because testing wrong .pc files, and fix ports using pkg-config --version to determine pkg-config version instead of pkg-config --modversion pkg-config like recommanded by pkg-config With Hat: portmgr Exp-runs by: bapt (pointhat-west), beat (pointyhat) Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=301539

* Presenting GNOME 2.30.1 for FreeBSD. The offical release notes for thisKoop Mast2010-05-101-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | release can be found at http://library.gnome.org/misc/release-notes/2.30/ . This release brings initial PackageKit support, Upower (replaces power management part of hal), cuse4bsd integration with HAL and cheese, and a faster Evolution. Sadly GNOME 2.30.x will be the last release with FreeBSD 6.X support. This will also be the last of the 2.x releases. The next release will be the highly-anticipated GNOME 3.0 which will bring with it a new UI experience. Currently, there are a few bugs with GNOME 2.30 that may be of note for our users. Be sure to consult the UPGRADING note or the 2.30 upgrade FAQ at http://www.freebsd.org/gnome/docs/faq230.html for specific upgrading instructions, and the up-to-date list of known issues. * Presenting GNOME 2.28.1 for FreeBSD. The official release notes for thisJoe Marcus Clarke2009-11-281-6/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | release can be found at http://library.gnome.org/misc/release-notes/2.28/ . Officially, this is mostly a polishing release in preparation for GNOME 3.0 due in about a year. On the FreeBSD front, though, a lot went into this release. Major thanks goes to kwm and avl who did a lot of the porting work for this release. In particular, kwm brought in Evolution MAPI support for better Microsoft Exchange integration. Avl made sure that the new gobject introspection repository ports were nicely compartmentalized so that large dependencies aren't brought in wholesale. But, every GNOME team member (ahze, avl, bland, kwm, mezz, and myself) contributed to this release. Other major improvements include an updated HAL with better volume probing code, ufsid integration, and support for volume names containing spaces (big thanks to J.R. Oldroyd); a new WebKit; updated AbiWord; an updated Gimp; and a preview of the new GNOME Shell project (thanks to Pawel Worach). The FreeBSD GNOME Team would like to that the following additional contributors to this release whose patches and testing really helped make it a success: Andrius Morkunas Dominique Goncalves Eric L. Chen J.R. Oldroyd Joseph S. * Update CONFIGURE_ARGS for how we pass CONFIGURE_TARGET to configure script.Rong-En Fan2008-08-211-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Specifically, newer autoconf (> 2.13) has different semantic of the configure target. In short, one should use --build=CONFIGURE_TARGET instead of CONFIGURE_TARGET directly. Otherwise, you will get a warning and the old semantic may be removed in later autoconf releases. To workaround this issue, many ports hack the CONFIGURE_TARGET variable so that it contains the ``--build='' prefix. To solve this issue, under the fact that some ports still have configure script generated by the old autoconf, we use runtime detection in the do-configure target so that the proper argument can be used. Changes to Mk/*: - Add runtime detection magic in bsd.port.mk - Remove CONFIGURE_TARGET hack in various bsd.*.mk - USE_GNOME=gnometarget is now an no-op Changes to individual ports, other than removing the CONFIGURE_TARGET hack: = pkg-plist changed (due to the ugly CONFIGURE_TARGET prefix in * executables) - comms/gnuradio - science/abinit - science/elmer-fem - science/elmer-matc - science/elmer-meshgen2d - science/elmerfront - science/elmerpost = use x86_64 as ARCH - devel/g-wrap = other changes - print/magicfilter GNU_CONFIGURE -> HAS_CONFIGURE since it's not generated by autoconf Total # of ports modified: 1,027 Total # of ports affected: ~7,000 (set GNU_CONFIGURE to yes) PR: 126524 (obsoletes 52917) Submitted by: rafan Tested on: two pointyhat 7-amd64 exp runs (by pav) Approved by: portmgr (pav) Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=218938

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | GNOME 2.20 release notes can be found at http://www.gnome.org/start/2.20/notes/en/ . Beyond that, this update includes the new GIMP 2.4 (courtesy of ahze). The GNOME 2.20 update also includes a huge change in the FreeBSD GNOME hierarchy. We are now using the more standard DATADIR of ${PREFIX}/share rather than ${PREFIX}/share/gnome. The result is that fewer patches and hacks are needed to port GNOME components to FreeBSD. This will mean some user changes may be required, so be sure to read /usr/ports/UPDATING for more details. This release and the things we accomplished in it would not have been possible without mezz's crazy idea to collapse DATADIR, and his persistence to make it happen successfully.
