* Revert "*/py-{gdbm,sqlite3,tkinter}: switch from distutils to setuptools"Dmitry Marakasov2022-12-151-7/+6
| | | | | | | | | | This reverts commit 7446740638e7d833fde0962e71ef440a6af3c749. The change is not valid as setuptools have deprecated setup.py, while distutils will be supported in existing point releases. Python 3.12 support will require different solution. PR: 268283

* Relax hardcoded paths to fix build with Python 3.8.7Kai Knoblich2020-12-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since r558913 Python 3.8 incorporates BPO-42604 [1] which changed the shared libs naming scheme. This means "EXT_SUFFIX" is now derived from SOABI and yields with Python 3.8 to ".cpython-38.so" instead of ".so". The affected ports strip the libaries in the "post-install" target via hardcoded path(s) and the build fails at the end because the new extension is not expected at this place. Remedy the issue by adding wildcards to these paths. This should also prepare the ports for future Python releases, which will use the new shared libs naming scheme. * Convert Python ports to FLAVORS.Mathieu Arnold2017-11-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Ports using USE_PYTHON=distutils are now flavored. They will automatically get flavors (py27, py34, py35, py36) depending on what versions they support. There is also a USE_PYTHON=flavors for ports that do not use distutils but need FLAVORS to be set. A USE_PYTHON=noflavors can be set if using distutils but flavors are not wanted. A new USE_PYTHON=optsuffix that will add PYTHON_PKGNAMESUFFIX has been added to cope with Python ports that did not have the Python PKGNAMEPREFIX but are flavored. USES=python now also exports a PY_FLAVOR variable that contains the current python flavor. It can be used in dependency lines when the port itself is not python flavored. For example, deskutils/calibre. By default, all the flavors are generated. To only generate flavors for the versions in PYTHON2_DEFAULT and PYTHON3_DEFAULT, define BUILD_DEFAULT_PYTHON_FLAVORS in your make.conf. In all the ports with Python dependencies, the *_DEPENDS entries MUST end with the flavor so that the framework knows which to build/use. This is done by appending '@${PY_FLAVOR}' after the origin (or @${FLAVOR} if in a Python module with Python flavors, as the content will be the same). For example: RUN_DEPENDS= ${PYTHON_PKGNAMEPREFIX}six>0:devel/py-six@${PY_FLAVOR} PR: 223071 Reviewed by: portmgr, python Sponsored by: Absolight Differential Revision: https://reviews.freebsd.org/D12464 Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=455210

* Use setuptools for all Python ports.William Grzybowski2013-12-151-4/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Setuptools is the preferred method to manage Python distributions after many changes to the packaging ecosystem over the past couple of years. Only ports using USE_PYDISTUTILS= yes are affected by this commit, ports using USE_PYDISTUTILS= easy_install remains the same however this usage is now deprecated and should be converted to USE_PYDISTUTILS= yes. Some Python distributions do not work with setuptools out of the box because they extend the install command from distutils and not setuptools, and so they need to be patched accordingly. pip (which leverages setuptools) works around the issue by using eggs, however we want to get rid of those as well, as support for "flat" installation is unavailable or has other issues associated with it. This work allows us to unify how python packages are built, ensure that Python distributions are installed consistently, reduces complexity for Python port maintainers and paves the way for simplifying the Python ports framework in the future. * Add new port for python sqlite3 module.Hye-Shik Chang2006-06-234-0/+90
This port installs a Python "standard" library version of pysqlite which is provided by databases/py-pysqlite22 already. Because sqlite3 module was introduced in Python 2.5, this port plays only for 2.5 or laters. See Also: http://docs.python.org/dev/lib/module-sqlite3.html Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=166074
