RPCS3 is an open-source Sony PlayStation 3 emulator and debugger
written in C++ for Windows and Linux. The project began development on
May 23rd, 2011 and currently sports modern Vulkan, Direct3D 12 and
OpenGL graphic APIs. The emulator is capable of booting and playing
hundreds of commercial games. With each and every contribution and
donation, more and more games are becoming closer and closer to either
booting or full playability.

Instruments calculators, written by Marat Fayzullin and modified for
better Unix support by Doug Melton.
Our local modifications offer better keyboard mappings out of the box,
making it suitable as desktop calculator when you need something more
advanced than dc(1), bc(1), or your favorite language's REPL.

Please note that this is a development version of nova.
Many features are not available.
Currently nova works on FreeBSD 11 and supports QEMU and Xen.

- Security groups are not implemented
- ARP spoofing, DHCP isolation protection are not implemented
- Nova services work from the root user
- No IPv6 support
QEMU issues:
- Need to enable serialconsole (TCP)
- Need to disable online CPU tracking
- Cannot mount cinder volumes
Xen issues:
- Live snapshots don't work
- No support for cinder volume hot-plugging
- XENBUS delay (5 min) when using qemu driver and COW images
- Some Linux images cannot be booted
For further FreeBSD specific notes please refer to port's pkg-message.

qemu-utils is a new port which installs a few miscellaneous qemu utilities
that are useful even without emulation capabilities. It is useful where
emulation is not needed, because it has far fewer dependencies than qemu.
It is equivalent to the Debian package of the same name.

Citra is an experimental open-source Nintendo 3DS emulator/debugger
written in C++. It is written with portability in mind, with builds
actively maintained for Windows, Linux and OS X. Citra only emulates a
subset of 3DS hardware, and therefore is generally only useful for
running/debugging homebrew applications. At this time, Citra is even
able to boot several commercial games! Most of these do not run to a
playable state, but we are working every day to advance the project
forward.

This package has minimal deps, only udp server and
vncserver are required.
This works really nicely for someone who just wants
to run headless vms or the VBoxManage tools without
bloat.

Switch qemu-cheri128 to compressed 128-bit capabilities per the soon to be
released ISA v5. Introduce a new qemu-cheri128m port which retains
support for 128-bit capabilities that magically store 256-bit of data
preserving semantic compatiblity with 256-bit capabilities while having
128-bit size and alignment requirments.

program is to simplify installation of MS Windows software to run under
the Windows emulator "Wine".
The name indicates, that the program was initially developed to support
easy installation of Windows games on Linux. The range of supported
applications has long been extended to cover a wide range of windows
applications including Microsoft Office.
PlayOnFreeBSD behaves significantly different than PlayOnLinux in a
number of aspects, e.g. which version of Wine to use (only a single
version is normally installed on FreeBSD, but PlayOnLinux tries to run
each Windows application in a Wine environment that has previously been
reported to give good results and installs missing Wine versions in the
user's home directory).

The VPCS can simulate up to 9 PCs. You can ping/traceroute them, or
ping/traceroute the other hosts/routers from the virtual PCs when you study
the Cisco routers in the Dynamips. VPCS is not the traditional PC, it is
just a program running on the Linux or FreeBSD, and only few network
commands can be used in it. But VPCS can give you a big hand when you study
the Cisco devices in the Dynamips. VPCS can replace the routers or VMware
boxes which are used as PCs in the Dynamips network. It can save your
CPU/Memory. It is very small.
VPCS can be run in udp or ether mode. In the udp mode, VPCS sends or
receives the packets via udp. In the ether mode, via /dev/tap.

The converter will convert all IOS, Cloud and VirtualBox devices
to the new format. It will also convert all QEMU based devices (QEMU
VM, ASA, PIX, JUNOS & IDS). VPCS nodes will be converted to cloud
devices due to lack of information the 0.8.7 topology files.
For topologies containing snapshots, the snapshots will also be
converted to the new format automatically.

PPSSPP is a PSP emulator written in C++. It translates PSP CPU
instructions directly into optimized x86, x64 and ARM machine code,
using JIT recompilers (dynarecs).
PPSSPP can thus run on quite low-spec hardware, including stronger
ARM-based phones and tablets, as long as there's OpenGL ES 2.0
support.

Add xen kernel and xen toolstack ports to the ports tree
This packages are for now only supported on FreeBSD 11 after 1100055
The xen package only include the kernel and an addition to the loader menu to
allow to disable booting on the xen kernel
The Xen toolstack (xl) includes seabios (hence the addition of LGPLv3 license)
Explicitly use nm from ports binutils to workaround a bug in FreeBSD's nm on
some version of FreeBSD.
Workaround configure checks that are actually not needed during the build of the
tool stack.
Thanks AllanJude@ for the xen.4th
Thanks roger@ for all the work making FreeBSD dom0 support working.
Please notice that you will need an Intel box with EPT and a working IOMMU

once it builds again on 8 and 9:
QEMU is a FAST! processor emulator using dynamic translation to achieve
good emulation speed.
QEMU has two operating modes:
* Full system emulation. In this mode, QEMU emulates a full system
(for example a PC), including a processor and various peripherials.
It can be used to launch different Operating Systems without rebooting
the PC or to debug system code.
* User mode emulation. In this mode, QEMU can launch
Linux processes compiled for one CPU on another CPU. It can be used to
launch the Wine Windows API emulator or to ease cross-compilation and
cross-debugging.
As QEMU requires no host kernel patches to run, it is very safe and easy to use.

The hyperv-is provision a collection of kernel mode drivers as well as
user-space daemons to facilitate integration with Hyper-v to provide a
feature rich and high performance FreeBSD guest experience.
The FreeBSD Integration Service on Hyper-v includes a collection of kernel
mode drivers as well as user-space daemons to interact with the drivers
that are required to run Hyper-V-specific devices known as FreeBSD
Integration Services (BIS). It is to facilitate integration with Hyper-v
to provide a feature rich and high performance FreeBSD guest experience.
See the man page for a list of binaries and their functions.
FreeBSD support for hyperv-is was first added by Microsoft BSD Integration
Services Team <bsdic@microsoft.com>.

The Fedora 10 infrastructure ports have been in use since June 2009 and, while
having served a great deed, have become unsupported upstream and hence affected
by unfixed security vulnerabilities. In addition to that, many recent Linux
binaries need newer libc / stdlibc++ versions.
This commit adds the linux-c6- userland as drop-in replacement for the -f10
infrastructure, as well as upgrading the linux_base-c6 port to CentOS 6.5.
If you want to switch to linux-c6 ports, please define at /etc/make.conf:
OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT=c6
OVERRIDE_LINUX_NONBASE_PORTS=c6
Additionally, please add the following line to /etc/sysctl.conf:
compat.linux.osrelease=2.6.18
Upgrading procedures are shown in /usr/ports/UPDATING.
This work has been inspired by Artyom Mirgorodskiy's post to emulation@ in
November 2013, using and extending mav@'s work. It has been tested extensively
and most reported issues were already fixed. Please report any additional bug
or "features" to the emulation mailing list.
