* Presenting GNOME 2.16.1 for FreeBSD. This release represents a massiveJoe Marcus Clarke2006-10-143-10/+20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | amount of work by the FreeBSD GNOME Team and our testers. On top of the usual GNOME update, we have taken this opportunity to move GNOME from X11BASE to LOCALBASE. This means roughly 600 ports NOT part of the GNOME Desktop also need to be changed. The bulk of the move was carried out by ahze, mezz, and pav, but it would not have been possible without cooperation from the FreeBSD KDE team who worked with us to make sure GNOME and KDE can still coexist happily. We would also like to send a shout out to kris and pointyhat for putting up with multiple test runs until we got something that was solid. Back to GNOME 2.16. This release brings a huge amount of new functionality to FreeBSD. The standard release notes can be read at http://www.gnome.org/start/2.16/ . But on top of what you will read there, jylefort and marcus have completed work on a port of HAL to FreeBSD. This will allow FreeBSD to take advantage of closer hardware interaction such as auto-mounting CD-ROMs, USB drives, and music players; auto-playing audio CDs; and managing laptop power consumption. But where would this all be without our loyal testers and contributors? Therefore, the FreeBSD GNOME team would like to thank the following users: Phillip Neumann <pneumann@gmail.com> tmclaugh mux Yuri Pankov <yuri.pankov@gmail.com> chinsan Thomas <freebsdlists@bsdunix.ch> Brian Gruber <knightbg@yahoo.com> Franz Klammer <klammer@webonaut.com> Dominique Goncalves <dominique.goncalves@gmail.com> Pascal Hofstee <caelian@gmail.com> Yasuda Keisuke <kysd@po.harenet.ne.jp> backyard <backyard1454-bsd@yahoo.com> Andris Raugulis <endrju@null.lv> <endrju@null.lv> Eric L. * - Add header in these *-reference ports.Jeremy Messenger2006-05-311-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Fix a few of pkg-descr by chase the rename. - Move all PORTREVISION and PORTEPOCH to top with ?=. - Put USE_X_PREFIX back in, but under REFERENCE_PORT, and remove PREFIX? and USE_XLIB. This fix ports to use the correct mtree when you change the prefix, for example: Incorrect: (Without USE_X_PREFIX) ================================ # cd /usr/ports/x11-toolkits/gtk20 # make -V MTREE_FILE /etc/mtree/BSD.x11-4.dist # make PREFIX=/tmp/foo -V MTREE_FILE /etc/mtree/BSD.local.dist <-- Here... ================================ Correct: (With USE_X_PREFIX) ================================ # cd /usr/ports/x11-toolkits/gtk20 # make -V MTREE_FILE /etc/mtree/BSD.x11-4.dist # make PREFIX=/tmp/foo -V MTREE_FILE /etc/mtree/BSD.x11-4.dist <-- Here... ================================ - Change a several of *-reference ports to install in LOCALBASE instead X11BASE, but only two gtkmm*-reference couldn't be change at the moment. Bump the PORTREVISION for change prefix. Discussed with: marcus Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=164120

* Presenting GNOME 2.12 for FreeBSD. The release is chock full of bug fixesJoe Marcus Clarke2005-11-054-24/+81
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | and new features. Don't believe me? Then see for yourself at http://www.gnome.org/start/2.12/notes/en/. DO NOT USE portupgrade by itself to upgrade to GNOME 2.12. Instead, use the gnome_upgrade.sh script from http://www.marcuscom.com/downloads/gnome_upgrade212.sh. This script will circumvent some potential pitfalls users can see if they use portupgrade by itself. In keeping with tradition, GNOME 2.12 for FreeBSD comes with a special splash screen. The winner of this release's contest is Dominique Goncalves <dominique.goncalves@gmail.com>. His splash screen was inspired by http://art.gnome.org/contests/2.12-splash/83. The FreeBSD GNOME Team would lank to thank the following users for their contributions to this release: Matthew Luckie <mjl@luckie.org.nz> ade sajd on #freebsd-gnome Caelian on #freebsd-gnome mnag Yasuda Keisuke <kysd@po.harenet.ne.jp> Mark Hobden <markhobden@gmail.com> Sergey Akifyev <asa@agava.com> Andreas Kohn For more information on GNOME on FreeBSD, checkout http://www.FreeBSD.org/gnome/. The 2.12 documentation will be posted shortly. Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=147261

* add cairoMichael Johnson2004-11-083-0/+48
Cairo is a vector graphics library with cross-device output support. Currently supported output targets include the X Window System and in-memory image buffers. PostScript and PDF file output is planned. Cairo is designed to produce identical output on all output media while taking advantage of display hardware acceleration when available (eg. through the X Render Extension).
