* sysutils/devcpu-data: Temporarily return to the treeJoseph Mingrone2023-09-042-0/+23
| | | | | | | | | | Re-add the port to give users time to adjust to the reorganization of the CPU microcode ports in bc7829212d153aeff69b439d08e2e3001ef88ba3. Reported by: dch Reviewed by: manu Sponsored by: The FreeBSD Foundation Differential Revision: https://reviews.freebsd.org/D41718
* sysutils/cpu-microcode-*: Reorganize CPU microcode portsJoseph Mingrone2023-08-165-164/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Prior to this update, sysutils/devcpu-data, which only contained an RC script, had run dependencies on the AMD and Intel microcode ports. This made it cumbersome to have just the AMD or just the Intel microcode ports installed. With this change, the microcode ports now depend on the RC script. Other changes: - Use more intuitive port names: cpu-microcode, cpu-microcode-amd, cpu-microcode-intel, and cpu-microcode-rc. - Add the metaport, cpu-microcode, which pulls in all related ports. - Pet portclippy/portfmt Reviewed by: lwhsu, markj Approved by: sbruno (maintainer) Sponsored by: The FreeBSD Foundation Differential Revision: https://reviews.freebsd.org/D41406
* sysutils/devcpu-data: Fix typo in rc scriptThomas Hurst2023-07-312-12/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | The microcode_update rc script spells "required_modules" as "requires_modules", masking this by duplicating the missing functionality in its own precmd. This patch fixes the typo and removes the superfluous precmd. PR: 272781 Approved by: sbruno (maintainer)

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Update AMD microcode https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/commit/amd-ucode?id=7518922bd5b98b137af7aaf3c836f5a498e91609 https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/commit/amd-ucode?id=77101513943ef198e2050667c87abf19e6cbb1d8 At least on my FX-8150, I can run spectre test code and it fails after applying the 15h update. I have not seen a system that needs the 17h update, and we think this only covers EPYC processors, not Ryzen. When I tested this on an EPYC at work, the tools detected that the 17h microcode was correct but uneeded for the Dell system.
