* Convert Python ports to FLAVORS.Mathieu Arnold2017-11-301-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Ports using USE_PYTHON=distutils are now flavored. They will automatically get flavors (py27, py34, py35, py36) depending on what versions they support. There is also a USE_PYTHON=flavors for ports that do not use distutils but need FLAVORS to be set. A USE_PYTHON=noflavors can be set if using distutils but flavors are not wanted. A new USE_PYTHON=optsuffix that will add PYTHON_PKGNAMESUFFIX has been added to cope with Python ports that did not have the Python PKGNAMEPREFIX but are flavored. USES=python now also exports a PY_FLAVOR variable that contains the current python flavor. It can be used in dependency lines when the port itself is not python flavored. For example, deskutils/calibre. By default, all the flavors are generated. To only generate flavors for the versions in PYTHON2_DEFAULT and PYTHON3_DEFAULT, define BUILD_DEFAULT_PYTHON_FLAVORS in your make.conf. In all the ports with Python dependencies, the *_DEPENDS entries MUST end with the flavor so that the framework knows which to build/use. This is done by appending '@${PY_FLAVOR}' after the origin (or @${FLAVOR} if in a Python module with Python flavors, as the content will be the same). For example: RUN_DEPENDS= ${PYTHON_PKGNAMEPREFIX}six>0:devel/py-six@${PY_FLAVOR} PR: 223071 Reviewed by: portmgr, python Sponsored by: Absolight Differential Revision: https://reviews.freebsd.org/D12464 Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=455210

* By default libtool replaces -export-symbols <file> with -retain-symbols-fileTijl Coosemans2015-08-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | <file> on ELF systems, but this doesn't really do what -export-symbols is meant to do. On GNU ELF systems it converts <file> to a simple version script first and then uses -version-script instead of -retain-symbols-file. Let USES=libtool patch libtool scripts to do this on all systems with GNU ld(1). Bump PORTREVISION on all ports where the build log contains -export-symbols. audio/calf: This port builds a module that now exports only one function, but it also builds a number of executables that link to this module and expect to see other functions. Because it's already a bit dodgy to link to a module (libtool warns about this) let the module continue to export only one function and instead build an ordinary library from the same source that the executables can link to. Fix a number of other issues in the same Makefile.am and clean up the port Makefile. japanese/scim-honoka: Tries to hide all symbols that start with an underscore, but because this library is written in C++ all symbols start with _Z so it ends up hiding everything. Just don't hide anything at all like the textproc/scim configure script does. multimedia/schroedinger: Apply an upstream patch. textproc/scim-input-pad: Same as japanese/scim-honoka. * Support LIBS like LDFLAGS.Tijl Coosemans2014-06-111-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Add LIBS="${LIBS}" to MAKE_ENV and CONFIGURE_ENV. - Add an option helper for LIBS. - Adjust all ports that already use LIBS. Also remove references to PTHREAD_CFLAGS and PTHREAD_LIBS while here. - Some ports did not support having a LIBS environment variable and required additional patches. Somewhat simplified a linker command line looks like: ${CC} ${src_LDFLAGS} ${LDFLAGS} ${src_LIBS} ${LIBS} where src_LDFLAGS and src_LIBS are controlled by upstream and LDFLAGS and LIBS can be controlled by us. If possible -L and -l flags need to be added to LIBS to make sure they appear after any -L and -l flags set by upstream. Many ports currently add -L${LOCALBASE}/lib to LDFLAGS but this may appear too early on the command line causing installed libraries to be linked in instead of freshly built ones. Additional changes: benchmarks/netio: Replace WITH_IPV6 with an IPV6 option. comms/gnokii: Replace some patches with USES=pathfix. Also remove -fPIC. graphics/gimageview: USES=libtool and install desktop file in DESKTOPDIR. graphics/visionworkbench: Remove FreeBSD 7 support. multimedia/libmovtar: New LIB_DEPENDS syntax. multimedia/opencinematools: Use standard do-build. net/siproxd: USES=libtool:keepla (port actually needs .la files for plugins) net-mgmt/nagios: Remove -fPIC. net-mgmt/nagios4: Remove -fPIC. print/cups-base: Only add -lssp_nonshared on i386 and OSVERSION < 1000036. security/p11-kit: Replace PTHREAD_LIBS in CONFIGURE_ENV with ac_cv_func_pthread_mutexattr_init=no in CONFIGURE_ARGS. This skips a test in configure that falsely detects pthread_mutexattr_init in our libc. sysutils/dar: Fix iconv detection. x11/rxvt-unicode: Remove -lstdc++ and patch configure to remove a FreeBSD hack and use $CXX as linker as on other platforms. * When linking a library libA with a library libB using libtool, if libB.laTijl Coosemans2014-04-231-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | exists, libtool will add all libraries libB.la refers to (dependency_libs field) to the linker command line and store them in the dependency_libs field of libA.la. So everything that subsequently links with libA will also link to these extra libraries. This causes too much overlinking. This commit modifies Mk/Uses/libtool.mk so it empties the dependency_libs field in .la libraries during staging. However, because .la libraries have very limited use when dependency_libs is empty it makes sense to completely remove them during staging. So with this commit USES=libtool is modified to remove .la libraries and a new form (USES=libtool:keepla) is introduced in case they need to be kept (dependency_libs is still emptied). PORTREVISION is bumped on all ports with USES=libtool that install .la libraries. Most ports are also changed to add :keepla because .la libraries have to be kept around as long as there are dependent ports with .la libraries that refer to them in their dependency_libs field. In most cases :keepla can be removed again as soon as all dependent ports that install .la libraries have some form of USES=libtool added to their Makefile. This release brings initial PackageKit support, Upower (replaces power management part of hal), cuse4bsd integration with HAL and cheese, and a faster Evolution. Sadly GNOME 2.30.x will be the last release with FreeBSD 6.X support. This will also be the last of the 2.x releases. The next release will be the highly-anticipated GNOME 3.0 which will bring with it a new UI experience. Currently, there are a few bugs with GNOME 2.30 that may be of note for our users. Be sure to consult the UPGRADING note or the 2.30 upgrade FAQ at http://www.freebsd.org/gnome/docs/faq230.html for specific upgrading instructions, and the up-to-date list of known issues. Officially, this is mostly a polishing release in preparation for GNOME 3.0 due in about a year. On the FreeBSD front, though, a lot went into this release. Major thanks goes to kwm and avl who did a lot of the porting work for this release. In particular, kwm brought in Evolution MAPI support for better Microsoft Exchange integration. Avl made sure that the new gobject introspection repository ports were nicely compartmentalized so that large dependencies aren't brought in wholesale. But, every GNOME team member (ahze, avl, bland, kwm, mezz, and myself) contributed to this release. Other major improvements include an updated HAL with better volume probing code, ufsid integration, and support for volume names containing spaces (big thanks to J.R. Oldroyd); a new WebKit; updated AbiWord; an updated Gimp; and a preview of the new GNOME Shell project (thanks to Pawel Worach). Beyond that, this update includes the new GIMP 2.4 (courtesy of ahze). The GNOME 2.20 update also includes a huge change in the FreeBSD GNOME hierarchy. We are now using the more standard DATADIR of ${PREFIX}/share rather than ${PREFIX}/share/gnome. The result is that fewer patches and hacks are needed to port GNOME components to FreeBSD. This will mean some user changes may be required, so be sure to read /usr/ports/UPDATING for more details. This release and the things we accomplished in it would not have been possible without mezz's crazy idea to collapse DATADIR, and his persistence to make it happen successfully. Debian, Gentoo, NetBSD and other OSs have the correct package name, but not in our ports tree. My team, FreeBSD GNOME Team, have agreed with it. As for x11-toolkits/py-gnome2, chase the rename.
