Despite well-meaning efforts from a number of people, myself included, it never made the jump to 64-bit and was relegated to the back-corners of i386. Now its frailty is hampering forward progress with Clang. Any renewed engineering efforts are of course welcome and can happen outside of the tree. No MFC of this is planned.
