| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There have been lots of missing CONFLICTS_INSTALL entries, either because conflicting ports were added without updating existing ports, due to name changes of generated packages, due to mis-understanding the format and semantics of the conflicts entries, or just due to typoes in package names. This patch is the result of a comparison of all files contained in the official packages with each other. This comparison was based on packages built with default options and may therefore have missed further conflicts with optionally installed files. Where possible, version numbers in conflicts entries have been generalized, some times taking advantage of the fact that a port cannot conflict with itself (due to logic in bsd.port.mk that supresses the pattern match result in that case). A few ports that set the conflicts variables depending on complex conditions (e.g. port options), have been left unmodified, despite probably containing outdated package names. These changes should only affect the installation of locally built ports, not the package building with poudriere. They should give an early indication of the install conflict in cases where currently the pkg command aborts an installation when it detects that an existing file would be overwritten, Approved by: portmgr (implicit)

This commit removes the old GNOME 2 desktop, bindings and some ports that can't be compiled. A few ports where updated to more recent versions to allow them to compile with this update. Apart from updating ports to newer versions GDM is more integrated with gnome-shell now, and handles several things for the GNOME desktop such as screen locking. If you want to use GNOME 3 via startx, you will have to add your own lock screen/screensaver. For example xscreensaver can be used for sessions started without GDM. Shell Extensions can be installed via https://extensions.gnome.org/ , we have ported a few that can't be installed via this way. The old gnome-utils and gnome-games ports where split up into single ports and where converted to meta-ports. gnome-terminal requires a UTF-8 locale to run, gdm handles this already, but if you use startx you need to do this yourself. Upgrade instructions: Delete the old and conflicting packages: # pkg delete clutter gnome-utils gnome-panel gnome-keyring vala-vapigen \ guile gcalctool gnome-media libgnomekbd # pkg delete gnome-screensaver gnome-applets bug-buddy evolution-exchange \ evolution-webcal gnome-system-tools seahorse-plugins gnome-control-center For package users the following lines will be enough: # pkg upgrade # pkg install gnome3 For ports users should do the following: # portmaster -a # portmaster x11/gnome3 We are currently aware of two issues. The first issue is a bug in the file monitoring code in the glib20 port. This bug causes glib programs to crash when files in a monitored directory are added or removed. Upstream is aware of the problem, but since the problem is quite complex there is no solution yet. This problem isn't restricted to BSD. The second issue is that on certain video cards totem will display a purple/pink overlay on the video. It not clear yet where the issues comes from. Also remove -fPIC. graphics/gimageview: USES=libtool and install desktop file in DESKTOPDIR. graphics/visionworkbench: Remove FreeBSD 7 support. multimedia/libmovtar: New LIB_DEPENDS syntax. multimedia/opencinematools: Use standard do-build. net/siproxd: USES=libtool:keepla (port actually needs .la files for plugins) net-mgmt/nagios: Remove -fPIC. net-mgmt/nagios4: Remove -fPIC. print/cups-base: Only add -lssp_nonshared on i386 and OSVERSION < 1000036. security/p11-kit: Replace PTHREAD_LIBS in CONFIGURE_ENV with ac_cv_func_pthread_mutexattr_init=no in CONFIGURE_ARGS. This skips a test in configure that falsely detects pthread_mutexattr_init in our libc. sysutils/dar: Fix iconv detection. x11/rxvt-unicode: Remove -lstdc++ and patch configure to remove a FreeBSD hack and use $CXX as linker as on other platforms. Officially, this is mostly a polishing release in preparation for GNOME 3.0 due in about a year. On the FreeBSD front, though, a lot went into this release. Major thanks goes to kwm and avl who did a lot of the porting work for this release. In particular, kwm brought in Evolution MAPI support for better Microsoft Exchange integration. Avl made sure that the new gobject introspection repository ports were nicely compartmentalized so that large dependencies aren't brought in wholesale. But, every GNOME team member (ahze, avl, bland, kwm, mezz, and myself) contributed to this release. Other major improvements include an updated HAL with better volume probing code, ufsid integration, and support for volume names containing spaces (big thanks to J.R. Oldroyd); a new WebKit; updated AbiWord; an updated Gimp; and a preview of the new GNOME Shell project (thanks to Pawel Worach).
